I think this GIF sums it up pretty well actually.
It seems to me that most people looking at the Fedor/M1 vs. UFC situation are looking at it from a "Western Culture" perspective rather than the "Eastern" viewpoint. We are motivated by money here in the great USA. But this isn't necessarily true in Russia. While money is important in the eastern block it is more a means to an end and the end is power.
Trust me when I say, Vadim and probably even Fedor or milking this and thoroughly enjoying having most of the MMA world focus on them in the spotlight and seemingly control the immediate future of the sport.
My prediction: They will stay in this position of power as long as they can to preserve their position of perceived power. Once the hype starts dying down, they'll probably take the deal that again, gives them the most power, and not necessarily the most money.
